Tim grew up in St. Catharine’s, Ontario and as a young boy would go to the local horse track (Garden City Raceway). Through a family connection, he met horseman Bill Carroll as a teen and started working in the barn area on the weekends and during breaks from school. He eventually received his driver's license in late 1983. By the early 1990s, he became one of Canada's top drivers, handling horses for the powerful John Burns Stable. He drove the Jugette and Breeders Crown winner Towners Image, and the Breeders Crown winner Hardie Hanover. In the late 1990s, he moved to the Meadows, where he was a sought-after catch-driver. Eventually, he moved to the California circuit, but returned to the Meadows in the fall of 2006. Tim has made the Meadows Race Track in Washington, PA his home with his wife Sophia and their children Meadow, Lexi and Parker.
Along with training the Horses for Hold The Line Stable, Tim trains for other owners. Currently there are 30 horses in the Twaddle Racing Stable. Some of those horses Fourever Boy, Allnight Miki and Donatover. Tim also trains for the Thestable.ca.
2021 Tim campaigned Fourever Boy for the Micki Rae Stables. Fourever Boy proved to be a grand circuit horse for both connections! 2022 was a busy year for Fourever Boy as he made it to every Grand Circuit Dance. Won his elimination for the Little Brown Jug and was second in the final. Fourever Boy won his division of the Simcoe and finished the year off strong, earning a much need rest. Fourever Boy will be back soon for his Four Year-old campaign!
